Funeral Mass for Mrs. Anna E. Arnold, 70, of Grafton was celebrated this morning, March 31, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grafton with the Rev. Patrick Morrow celebrant. Interment was in Scenic Hill Cemetery.
Her death occurred at 11:45 a.m. on March 28 at Jersey Community Hospital.
She was born in Calhoun County on Oct. 3, 1906, a daughter of Gerhardt and Elizabeth Gerdesmeyer Cappel. Her husband, Martin Arnold, died on Jan. 11 this year. The Arnolds had operated Arnold's Store in Grafton for many years.
Her survivors are one daughter, Mrs Evelyn Rosenthal of Peoria; a son, Vincent Arnold of Grafton; five grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Cappel of Hardin; one sister, Mrs. Henry (Mae) Schoberend of Golden Eagle, Paul of Godfrey, Charles of East Alton and Jerome Cappel of LaGrange.
Visitation was held at Jacoby Bros. Funeral Home in Grafton where a prayer service was read Wednesday evening.
