Roy Boomer, 79, a retired farmer of Jerseyville, died Dec. 15 at the Calhoun Convalescent Care Home in Calhoun county. Funeral rites were held at Jacoby Brothers Funeral home in Jerseyville. Rev Harry Frazer officiated and burial was in Oak Grove cemetery.
A WWI veteran, he was bon Oct. 24, 1893 in Jersey County, a son of Daniel & Hannah Ann (Frazer) Boomer.
He is survived by 5 daughters, Mrs. William (Ethel) Shults, Mrs. Joe (Inez) French and Mrs. Charles (Naomi) Webster, Jerseyville, Mrs. Edward (Violet) Phipps of Kane and Mrs. Charles (Eva) McIntyre of East Alton; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 4 sister, Mrs Inez Frazer and Mrs. Eva Rhoads of Jerseyville, Mrs. Mary Rice and Mrs Lottie Calender, both of Alton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and 3 brothers.
Visitation was held at Jacoby Brothers funeral home in Jerseyville and Worthey Post American Legion services were held at the cemetery.
