BURGE, Lawrence E., 87, of Kampsville, IL, died Thurs., May 2, 1996, at Pittsfield Healthcare Center.
He was a self employed mechanic and operated Burge's Garage near Kampsville, retiring in 1973.
He was a member of Mozier Hollow Church of Christ.
Born Dec. 22, 1908, in Kampsville, IL, he was a son of the late Frank and May Reed Burge.
He married the former Mae Sevier March 31, 1946, in Jerseyville, IL, and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Martha Mae Andrews of Jerseyville, IL; a son, Ronald E. Burge of California, a stepson, Edwin Kamp of Hamburg, IL; a sister Marie Hobbs of Kampsville, IL; 6 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Billie Burdett Burge, a brother and 2 sisters.
Graveside services were conducted Monday, May 6,1996 at Summit Grove Cemetery near Kampsville with Ray Shup officiating.
