CHAPPELL. Died 16-06-1992.
Former Jerseyville resident Loriane L. Chappell, 90, died at 2:10 p.m.
Tuesday, June 16, 1992, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Granite City. She
was a teacher in the Calhoun and Jersey County elementary school districts,
retiring in 1968.
Born on Sept. 1, 1901, in Byerton, she was the daughter of the late John R.
and Ida Belle (Bovee) Freesmeyer. Her husband, Arthur Elmer "Hap" Chappell,
died Feb. 20, 1950.
Survivng are two daguhters, Sharon G. and Sandra K. Chappell, both of
Granite City; two sons, Jack G. Chappell of Bridgeton, Mo., and Cletus B.
Chappell of Jerseyville; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a
brother Frank "Bing" Freesmeyer of Jerseyville; and a sister, Lucille
Winkler of Hardin. A son, Darrell Chappell; a sister, Aleta Surgeon; and a
brother, Ralph Freesmeyer, preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
Visitation continues from 10 a.m. Thursday until service time at 11 a.m. at
the First Assembly of God Church in Jerseyville. The Rev. Don Stratton will
officiate. Burial is in Chappell Cemetery in Delhi.
