MOZIER, Ill. - Elba E. Clendenny, 71, a retired farmer of Mozier, died at 4:58 a.m. Friday (Dec. 6, 1991) in his home. July 19, 1920, in Kampsville.
Mr. Clendenny was a son of Otho and Freda ?oiles Clendenny Sr. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Kampsville American Legion Post 1083.
On Dec 30 1963 he married Charlene Sidwell in Pittsfield. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Patricia Ann Clendenny of Marseilles; two
sons, Robert and Carl, both of Mozier; a sister, Freda Guthrie of Pleasant
Hill; and three brothers, Otho Jr., William and Leroy, all of Nebo.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, Stephen D. Howland, and two sisters and a brother.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in Hanks-Gubser Funeral Home in Pearl by Wilson Ramsey. Burial will be in Hess cemetery with graveside rites by American Legion Post 1083. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today.
