Lewis K. (Short) Clendenny Died Saturday
Lewis K. Clendenny, 67, Mozier retired owner of Clendenny Boat and Motor, died at noon Saturday (April 29, 1978) in Jersey Community Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Belleview, Ill., on Oct. 23, 1910, the son of Carrie and Celia Pontero Clendenny.
He was a member of the Westgate Lodge, No. 856, AS &ME of Hamburg and was
president of the West Central Missouri Wolf Hunter's Association.
He married Lottie Oden, Nov. 30, 1929 in Hardin. She survives. He is also
survived by a --?, who survives. Mrs. Roberta Delaney, of Mozier; four
brothers, Jack and Merle, of Pleasant Hill, Otis, of Carrollton, and Leo, of
Hamburg; three sisters, Mrs. Carlene Capps, of Kampsville, Mrs. Geneva
Schleeper, of Hardin, and Mrs. Cecelia Mae Ottwell, of Mozier; three
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Monday in the Ward-Lummis Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Ward officiating. Burial was in the Summit Grove Cemetery near Kampsville.
