Paul Clendenny Killed in Car Crash, Tuesday Night

Paul Clendenny of Mozier; was instantly killed Tuesday night about 7 p. m. when his car crashed head-on into a southbound car driven by Mrs. Eugene Anderson of Belleview. He was about 40 years of age.

Apparently he was on his way to his home on the G. A. Clendenny farm in Sny Bottom the accident occurred north of Bellview near the Saylor home. Mrs. Anderson was on the way to church with five children with her in the car. She was seriously injured and was taken to the Pittsfield hospital. The children were not seriously hurt, it was reported. Both cars were badly damaged.

Paul was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis (Bill) Clendenny of Mozier. He is survived by his wife, his parents and a brother, Bill, Mozier's Postmaster. Other relatives and many friends with the News join in Sympathy to the family. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this writing.

Former Alton Man Killed In Head-On

Paul Clendenny, 46, of Mozier a former Alton resident, was killed in a head-on two-car crash near Belleview in Calhoun County Tuesday evening, Illinois State Police told the Telegraph.

Clendenny, a former employee of Owens-Illinois Glass Co. who lived in Alton until five years ago, was pronounced dead by Dr. Eugene Goodmay of Pleasant Hill at the accident scene.

Two occupants of the other car, Mrs. Eugene Anderson of Nebo, and her son, Michael, 10, here taken to Pittsfield Hospital.

Clendenny is survived by his widow; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Clendenny, Mozier; a brother, William, postmaster at Mozier, and two sisters.

The body is at the Warren Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, pending arrangements.
