Stevie Lee Clendenny, 28, of Wood River, IL, was pronounced dead at 12:59 p.m. Monday, April 17, 1989, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Clendenny was formerly a dockhand for Consolidated Freightways of St. Louis.
Born in Pittsfield, he was the son of Larry Clendenny of Wood River and Iva Jean (Starman) Clendenny of Bethalto.
In addition to his parents, surviving are two daughters, Haley Clendenny of E. Alton and Krisica Clendenny of Wood River; his fiancé, Mandy Gray of Wood River; and four brothers, Greg Clendenny of Godfrey, Darrell and Devin Clendenny, both of Wood River, and Terry Clendenny of Cottage Hills.
Visitation was held Wednesday. Services were conducted Thursday, April 20, 1989, at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. The Rev. Maurice Burgund officiating. Burial was in Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
A coroner's inquest is pending.
