Elsie Winona Devening, 64, died November 23, 1989, at Greenwood Manor Nursing Home in Jerseyville.
Born in Calhoun County, she was the daughter of the late Willis Braid & Mary E. (Ibuchanan) Blackorby.
She married Paul Devening, October 1, 1941, in Elsberry, Missouri. He died November 19, 1979.
Surviving are 1 son, Gary Devening of Jerseyville; 2 daughters, Ferne Audrey Ridenour of Godfrey and Rose Mary Oglesby of Fieldon; 6 grandchildren; 1 brother, Leon Blackorby of Jerseyville and 2 sisters, Minnie Long and Leona Blackorby.
Visitation was from Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Services were held at Fieldon United Church of Christ with Rev. Jean Erb officiating. Burial was in Fieldon cemetery.
