Viola C. Elledge, 94, formerly of Nebo, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at the Eastside Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsfield.
She was born Aug. 2, 1915, at Hamburg, the daughter of Rufus and Cordellia Campbell Crader. She married Orland Elledge June 12, 1937, in Jerseyville and he preceded her in death Aug. 24, 1994.
Viola was a farm wife and homemaker and she truly enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. She was a member of the Nebo Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons: Gale (Carmen) Elledge of Louisian, Mo. and Don (Kathy) Elledge of Peoria. Eight grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; four sisters: Martha, Anna Belle, Sadie and Loretta and four brothers, Gary, Gordon, Dean and Harrison Crader.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at the Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill conducted by Bro. Wilson Ramsey. Burial followed at the Nebo Cemetery. Visitation was held from noon until time of services Sunday. Memorials may be made to the charity or organization of the donor's choice. Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill handled the arrangements.
