Jesse J. Foster, 88, of Quincy, formerly of Mozier, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.
A WWII Army veteran, he received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon and the New Guinea Campaign Star. He was a retired welder/mechanic and farmer. Born May 9, 1921 in Mozier, he was the son of the late Jesse W. and Rosa May (Highman) Foster. Surviving are a sister, Lena Taylor of Pittsfield; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Watson, Harold, William, Guy and Otis Foster; three sisters, Velma Sidwell, Lois Sichmeier and Lola Foster.
Visitation was held Thursday, March 11, from 10 a.m. until time of service at Hanks-Gress Funeral Home in Hardin. The funeral was conducted Thursday, March 11, at 11 a.m. at Hanks-Gress Funeral Home in Hardin with Rev. Wilson Ramsey officiating. Burial was in Fox Creek Cemetery in Mozier with full military rites.
