James H. P. Frye, 68o, was born 3 miles west of Hardin in Calhoun County on September 28, 1829. He died at the home of his sisters in Jerseyville.
He married Fannie (Estes) Frye, of canton, Ohio, October 22, 1862. They were parents of 9 children, 5 preceding their father in death.
He leaves 2 sons, Lee and George Frye; 2 daughters, Sarah C. and Mary Virginia; 2 sisters, Emeline B. Johnson and Mary Louisa Patterson; and 2 nephews, William and Gustus Johnson.
Funeral from home of Mrs. Johnson with Rev. G. W. Shepherd officiating. Burial in Oak Grove cemetery.
