Mrs. Eliza Morrison died August 28. Had lived in Jersey County for fifty years. Funeral at home. Rev. Wilson of Calhoun County After which remains taken to Gunterman cemetery.
Ella King born in Rome, New York. Parents were Rev. Geo. I. King and Mrs. King. Moved to Quincy, Illinois for 13 years. Moved to Jerseyville until he died in 1873.
lla married to J. Knox Smith of Lincoln, four children. Three survive, Mrs. Geo. O. Smith of Lincoln, Mrs. J. Woodward Jones of Wayne, Mr. Wilford Knox Smith of Crete, all living in Nebraska. J. K. Smith died in 1882 and Mrs. Smith and children to Lincoln Nebraska.
In 1889 she married John G. Morrison formerly of Jerseyville. They made their home in Nebraska. One daughter, Miss Ella K., son died in infancy. Also mother to her husband’s daughter, Estelle R. Morrison and son Edward R. Morrison, children of his first wife who was Mary Rees.
Presbyterian church, Mrs. Morrison was member of giving it her time and money. She and her mother were, with exception of one other person, the largest contributors to the erection of their church in Jerseyville.
