William L. "Bill" Ringhausen, 84, died at 8:16 pm Sunday, January 29, 1989, at Jersey Community hospital in Jerseyville. Ringhausen was an orchardist in Calhoun and Jersey Counties before retiring in 1980.
He was born in Hardin, son of the late Louis & Margaret (Woefel) Ringhausen. On June 23, 1928, in Hardin, he married Hildegarde Regina (Bauman) Ringhausen. She died in 1965.
Surviving are 1 son William D. Ringhausen of Meppen; 3 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 2 g-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Ted Ringhausen of Jerseyville.
He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Mary Lou Ringhausen; 1 grandson; 2 sisters, and 4 brothers.
Visitation is 4-9 pm Tuesday at Hanks Funeral Home in Hardin. There will be a prayer service at 6:30 pm and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 8 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 am Wednesday at St. Norbert Catholic church in Hardin with Rev. Dennis Kollross as celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
