WARD. Died 04-1884.
Dr Jonas Lutellas Ward, 64, died at Jersey House in Jerseyville.
Dr Ward was the third of a family of 6, born in Licking County, OH, November 29, 1821. His parents, Johan & Elizabeth Ward were natives of Virginia.
His Grandfather was French (on Mother's side), and English on Father's side. Both had served in the revolution, one of them being wounded at the battle of Yorktown and the other losing a foot by freezing at Valley Forge. His father was in the War of 1812.
Dr Ward graduated from Ohio Medical College in 1846, and 1849, he moved to Fieldon and was there until 1867. He then moved to Brussels, Calhoun County and back to Jersey County in 1871.
He married Mrs Margareta Selby, mother of Thomas J Selby. She died last year in Jerseyville. There were 5 children.
He was a jovial, happy person.
