ARMSTRONG, Claude E., born 25-07-1896, Calhoun County, Illinois, died 09-02-1976, buried Mascoutah City.

The funeral of Claude E. Armstrong of Kampsville was conducted on Feb 11 at the First Presbyterian Church in Kampsville with the Rev. R. A. Badger officiating. Interment was in Mascoutah City cemetery.

His death occurred on Feb 9. He was born July 25, 1896 in Kampsville a son of Eldon S. and Alice Scott Armstrong. Armstrong was a member of the Kampsville Presbyterian Church, IOOF Chapter 4, IOOF Encampment, the Canton, Jacksonville Lodge 570 AF and AM, American Legion Post 279, World War I Barracks, and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 358.

His survivors are his widow, Margaret A. Marietta Armstrong; a stepson, William L. Marietta of Mascoutah; three brothers, Reubin Armstrong and Hugh Armstrong of Jerseyville and Charles Armstrong of Biloxi, Miss.; and three sisters, Dorothy Stelbrink of Hardin, Flora Watson of Brentwood, Mo., and Dora Bligh of Jerseyville; two grand-daughters; one great-granddaughter.

His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
