Mecca Blackorby, 86, of rural Hamburg a lifelong Calhoun county resident. She was born July 14, 1896 in Kampsville, daughter of Stephen & Lydia (Ferguson) Degerlia. Her husband, Slocum L. Blackorby, died Apr. 18, 1981.
She is survived by a daughter, Vernita Kamp of rural Hamburg and 2 grandchildren, Lisa Ringhausen of Jerseyville and E. Mitchell Kamp of Quincy.
Four brother and 2 sisters preceded her in death.
Indian Creek cemetery has been named as a memorial.
