Mae Breden, 87, of Jerseyville, died at Jersey Care Center, June 29, 1981. The funeral mass was held at Holy Ghost church with Father William Hembrow, pastor, and Father David Schmidt, a nephew of Mr & Mrs. Bill Breden of Florissant, MO as co-celebrants. Burial was in St. Patrick cemetery, Alton.
Born Oct. 4, 1893 in Calhoun county, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas & Sarah (Kress) Kritz.
Her husband, William F. Breden, died Oct. 20, 1964. The Bredens resided on a farm on R1 Grafton prior to moving to Jerseyville.
She is survived by 1 daughter, Willene Kasten of Virden; 4 sons, Norman and Kenneth of Jerseyville, Bill of Florissant, MO and Ralph of Redondo Beach, CA; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, oldest son, Harold, 1 brother, 3 sisters and 3 grandsons.
