BURGE, Raymond L., 76, of Kampsville, IL, died at 2:55 am Tues., June 2, 1987, at his residence, after a lengthy illness.
Burge was born in Calhoun County, IL and worked as a mechanic for 12 years before retiring. A son of the late Frank and Maggie Mae (Reed) Burge, he married the former Jewel Eileen Smith on Oct. 4, 1936, in St. Charles, MO.
Surviving are his wife; 2 sons, Norman L. and Charles R. Burge, both of Kampsville; 2 daughters, Doloris Walker of Sun City, AZ, and Joan Scranton of Pleasant Hill; 10 grandsons; 4 great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence Burge of Kampsville, and a sister, Marie Hobbs of Kampsville.
Burge was preceded in death by 2 sisters and a brother.
Visitation was held Thurs. at Hanks Funeral Home in Hardin. Services were conducted Fri., June 5, 1987 with the Rev. Loy Schlote officiating. Burial was in Summit Grove Cemetery in Kampsville.
