Eugene W. Clendenny, 54, of Dow, died Friday, October 16, 1981 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Belleview February 20, 1927, he was the son of Freeman and the late Mabel Johnson Clendenny. He was a pipe inspector at Laclede Steel in Alton and a WW II Veteran.
He married Jessie Bock on October 16, 1979 in Jerseyville.
Surviving besides his wife and father are four sons, William and James, both of Jerseyville, Joseph of Oxford, Wis., and Jeff of Alton; one step-son, Ernie McKinney of Kane; three daughters, Geraldine Patton of Jerseyville, Judy Mathews of Eldred and Janet Tripenbach of St Liberty; five step-daughters, Janice Smith of Mt Vernon, Judy Trochuck and Donna Clendenny, both of Jerseyville, Carol Kelly of Medora and Bonnie Puskar of West Virginia; 24 grandchildren.
Visitation was held at Jacoby Brothers funeral Home in Jerseyville. The funeral was held Sunday, October 17, 1981 at the funeral home with Rev. Clyde Shaw officiating. Burial was in Summit Grove Cemetery.
