Obituary - Freeman Clendenny

HARDIN - Freeman Clendenny, 87, died at 8:05 a.m. Monday, Oct 12, 1992, at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville.

A grain livestock farmer, he was born in Belleview Oct. 6, 1905, a son of the late George Washington and Ella Martin Clendenny.

He married the former Mabile Johnston in June 1926 and she died in 1980. He then married the former Mossie Elizabeth Ruyle March 17, 1980.

Surviving are his wife; two stepdaughters, Marie Bick sad Violet Breden, both of Hardin; a stepson, Robert L. Anderson of Hardin; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; 23 step- great-grandchildren; and a step great-great-grandchild. Preceding him in death were two sons, Eugene and Floyd Clendenny; two grandsons;, a great-granddaughter; three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hanks-Gubser Funeral Home in Hardin, where services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Clyde Shaw will officiate. Burial is in Summit Grove Cemetery near Kampsville.
