Funeral services for Sammy Joe Clendenny, 24, of Hamburg; who died Monday, Feb. 2, 1970 at 11:30 a. m. in his home; were held Wednesday at 2:00 p. m... in the Ward funeral chapel. Burial was to Crescent Heights cemetery.
Mr. Clendenny was born Pleasant Hill, June 21, 1945, a son of Leo and Dora Shelton Clendenny. He was a member of the Hamburg Methodist church. He served in the army for 2 years where he was stationed in Korea for a year and was employed in Hamburg as a machine operator since his discharge.
Surviving are his parents; three brothers: Jerry of Belvidere, Nick of Hamburg, and Carey Edward of Wood River, and three sisters, Mrs. George (Janice Ann) Aderton, of Mt. Morris, Mrs. Edward (Nancy Jane) Maddox of Waterloo and Mrs. William (Sandra Joyce) Chronister of St. Louis.
