Miss Utha B. Draper, 68, of Jerseyville, retired editor of the Democrat News, died March 13, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.
She was born December 30, 1907 in Calhoun County, a daughter of James R. & Carrie B. (Jennings) Drainer. She had retired in July 1972 after 43 years working on the Democrat News.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and was formerly secretary of the Jersey Community Hospital Board.
She is survived by 1 brother, Allen Draper, Jerseyville; 1 sister, Mrs. Tallulah Laclede, Dallas, Texas; and 1 nephew, Dr. David Robinson of Texas.
Funeral was held March 16, at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Rev. Everett Chambers officiated and interment was in Oak Grove cemetery.
