Obituary - Violet Foiles

Violet Burdette Foiles, 58 years, 11 months, 2 days, of Jerseyville, wife of Cecil Foiles, died July 13, at Jersey Community hospital where she had been a patient 39 days.

Rev. Roland Hastie officiated at the Assembly of God church. Burial was in Summit Grove cemetery. Visitation hours were held at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Memorials may be given to the Leukemia Guild was designated as a memorial.

Mrs. Foiles was employed as a nurse's aide at Jersey Community hospital.

 She was a daughter of the late Louis & Liza (Bunch) Peuterbaugh and was born August 11, 1911, in Calhoun County.

Surviving in addition to her husband are 3 sons, Eugene Peuterbaugh of Lee Summit, MO, William Powell of Jerseyville and Gary Powell of St. Louis; 1 daughter, Mrs. Sue Hill of Jerseyville; 24 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Russell and Byron Peuterbaugh of Pleasant Hill; 3 sisters, Mrs. Wilma Wyatt of Pekin, Mrs. Lee Foiles of Creve Couer and Mrs. Virgil Davis of Detroit, IL; and 4 stepsons, Raymond, Roger and Roland Foiles of Carrollton and Robert Foiles of Bellview.

The death of her first husband, Ernest Powell, occurred in 1964.
