Obituary - Walter Foster

Walter K. "Pud" Foster, 90, of Hamburg, died Saturday, May 8, 2004 at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville. A farmer and orchardist, he had been a member of the Indian Creek Church of Christ in Hamburg since 1934, and was presently serving as an Elder.

Born Feb. 27, 1914 in Hamburg, he was the son of Charles and Lucinda Bensinger Foster.

He married Marguerite M. Tolbert Oct. 1, 1938 in Hardin and she survives.

 Also surviving are a son, Walter R. Foster of Bethalto, a sister, Blanche Little of South Roxana; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a great-great grandson.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and seven sisters.

Visitation was held Tuesday at Hanks-Gubser Funeral Home in Hardin. The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at 1 pm at Indian Creek Church of Christ in Hamburg with Rev. Art Rowland officiating. Burial will be in Indian Creek Cemetery in Hamburg . Memorials may be made to the Indian Creek Church of Christ building fund, the church cemetery or the Calhoun Ambulance Service.
