Obituary - Harry Fulkerson

FULKERSON. Died 11-08-1973.

Harry G. Fulkerson, 77, of Grafton, was dead on arrival August 11, at Good Samaritan hospital in Mt. Vernon. He had suffered a heart attack as he and Judge Howard L. White of Jerseyville were returning to the motel after attending a Shriners ceremonial in Mt. Vernon.

Funeral services were held at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Rev. James Rhea officiating. Interment was in Long cemetery, Belleview, Calhoun County.

He was born July 22, 1896 in Belleview, a son of William & Mecia (Anderson) Fulkerson.

His wife, Faye (Twichell) Fulkerson, preceded him in death.

He was retired from the Illinois Department of Agriculture where he had worked for 28 years.

He was a 50 year member of Hardin Lodge 792 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Ainad Temple, East St. Louis, a life member of the Directors' Staff, Royal Order of Jesters, Jerseyville Lodge BPOE, and had served on the Grafton City Council.

Surviving are 2 sons, William A. Fulkerson, Godfrey and Harry R. Fulkerson, Grafton; and Mrs. Hilda Jocelyn, a close friend who had assisted in his care since he had submitted to major surgery several months ago.

Masonic services were held during visitation at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
