Obituary - Ivy Gorman

Ivy Gorman, 55, died November 13, at Barnes hospital, St. Louis from injuries suffered in a shooting incident October 31.

Funeral mass was celebrated at Holy Ghost church with Fr Willam Hembrow as celebrant. Visitation was at Jacoby Brothers funeral home in Jerseyville.

Mrs. Gorman, widow of the late James Gorman who died August 21, 1979, was a real estate broker and owner of Curran-Gorman Real Estate. She and her brother, Tony Hazelwonder, also operated "The Ivy" restaurant at Delhi.

She was born April 2, 1927 in Calhoun county, a daughter of Bernice (Grandsinger) Hazelwonder of Jerseyville and the late Frank Hazelwonder.

 She is survived by her mother; 2 sons, F "Rocky" Poglajen and James; 2 daughters, Sandy Long of Jerseyville and Sister Frances Cabrini, Sand of Belleville, the former Brenda Poglajen; 2 brothers, Frank Hazelwonder of Ambyo and Tony Hazelwonder of Jerseyville; 6 sisters, Thelma Herkert, Michael, Hilda Mcintyre, Winchester, Edna Bellm, Marian Droege, Cleo Holmes and Janice Smith, Jerseyville; and 2 grandchildren.

Her first husband, Frank Poglajen, died January 25, 1958.
