Grace D. Grizzle, 87, of Jerseyville died April 10, at St. Joseph hospital, Alton. She was a home maker, former cook at a local restaurant, and a former nurse's aide at a local nursing home.
She was born February 18, 1902 in Calhoun county to Henry & Caroline (Valkart) Depper.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Jerseyville and Women of the Moose Lodge 695.
In April 1920, she married Charles Humiston, who d. April 28, 1964.
On January 30, 1949, in Jerseyville, she married George R Grizzle who died February 14, 1986.
Surviving are 2 daughter, Juanita Dabbs, Jerseyville and Florence Humiston, Payson, AZ; 1 son, Darrell Humiston, Scottsdale, AZ; 17 grandchildren; 11 g-grandchildren- 1 g-g-grandchild; and 1 sister, Alice Williams of Rockbridge.
She was preceded in death by 1 son, Francis Humiston; 1 sister Betha Zimmerman; 4 brothers, Roy, Ben, Henry and Edward Depper.
Funeral Services were held April 13 at Assembly of God Church. Burial was in Kane cemetery. Rev Lary Hayes and Rev Darrin Hughes officiated. Arrangements in charge of Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
