Final rites for Mrs. Emma Klunk held on Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma C. Klunk, 88 year old Jerseyville resident, were held Monday morning, 7 September at 9:30 o'clock at the church of the Holy Ghost, requiem mass was celebrated by Rev. Paul P. Heinen and interment was in St. Francis cemetery. Friends called at the Gubser Funeral Home prior to the final rites.

The death of Mrs. Klunk occurred Saturday morning, 5 September at 7:30 o'clock at Waters Nursing Home.

She was a daughter of the late Conrad and Catherine Hause Dietz and was born in Carlinville on 19 June 1876.

She was married on 12 April 1899 at St. Joseph's church in Carlinville to Peter J. Klunk and the couple resided in Calhoun county and St. Louis before moving to a farm east of Jerseyville in 1919. The death of Mr. Klunk occurred in 1942 and Mrs. Klunk and family moved to Jerseyville in 1944 where she had since resided.

Surviving her are one son, Alfred Klunk of Jerseyville, two daughters, Misses Hilda and Mabel Klunk of this city, one brother, Phillip Dietz of San Diego, Calif. And two sisters, Mrs. Frank Bellm of Carlinville and Sister M. Christine of the Daughters of Mercy, Durango, Colorado. She also leaves six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
