Dow farmer died Tuesday

Frank Peter Klunk, a farmer of the Dow vicinity died at five forty-five o'clock Tuesday afternoon, 17 February in the Jacoby ambulance as it arrived at St. Joseph's hospital in Alton where he was being taken for treatment. He was pronounced dead by a physician at the hospital.

Mr. Klunk was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank P. Klunk and was born in Calhoun County on 4 September 1888. His age at the time of death was fifty-nine years, five months and thirteen days. He has been a farmer in the Dow vicinity for the past fifteen years.

The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marie Klunk; three sons, Walter and Donald Klunk of Dow and George Klunk of the United States Army; four daughters, Mrs. Walter Brakeville and Mrs. George E. Frazer of Jerseyville, Mrs. Joseph Davison of New Franklin, Missouri, and Mrs. Howard Porter of Alton; seven grandchildren; four brothers, Joseph Klunk of Fieldon, Henry and Lawrence Klunk of Michael, and Valentine Klunk of Greenfield; and three sisters, Mrs. Ada Zipprich, Mrs. Tony Roth, and Mrs. Clarence Roundcount, all of Michael.

The body is at Jacoby Brothers Chapel where friends may call until the time of the funeral. Funeral services will be held at St. Patrick's church in Grafton, Friday, 20 February at nine-thirty o'clock. Requiem mass will be celebrated by Rev. Father Michael Sheehy and interment will be in the American Legion cemetery at Grafton.
