A funeral mass for Charles M. Narup, 90 of Fieldon was celebrated Friday at St. Mary's church, Westwoods with Msgr. P. O. Heinen as celebrant. Burial was in the church cemetery. His death occurred at 1:20 pm January 21 at Jersey Community Hospital.
His wife, the former Catherine Mossman, died 8 May 1978.
Narup was owner of the former Fieldon Telephone Company.
He was born February 2, 1890 in Calhoun County, a son of Henry and Sarah Clark Narup.
His survivors include two sons, Jerome Narup of Kane and Leonard Narup of Alton; seven daughters, Vernetia Gullicksrud of East Alton, Vera Davenport of Wood River, Norma Jean Glassbrenner of Plainview, Deloris Becker of Fieldon, Irene Erwin, Loretta Linenfelser and Rosalie East, all of Jerseyville; one sister, Mary Lewis of Lakeside, LA; 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
The rosary was recited Thursday Evening at Jacoby Funeral Home.
