Lena C. Pence, 79, of Mozier, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. She was a homemaker.
Born May 1, 1927 in Hamburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Carrie (Smith) DeGerlia. She married David H. Pence Aug. 20, 1945 in Hamburg and he died Aug. 13, 2004.
Surviving are a son, David A. Pence of Mozier; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn S. and Keith Allen of Hamburg and Vicki L. and Doug Angel of Mozier; two brothers, Gerald DeGerlia of Godfrey and Gilbert DeGerlia of Hamburg; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Lillian Willman, Minnie Charlton, Alberta Webb and an infant, Betty and four brothers, Charles "Dudge" DeGerlia, Clyde DeGerlia and infants, William Claud and Luther.
Visitation will be held Wednesday (today), Dec. 27, 2006 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hanks-Gress Funeral Home in Hardin. The funeral will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Hanks-Gress Funeral Home in Hardin. Burial will be in Summit Grove Cemetery in Kampsville. Memorials may be made to the Summit Grove and Hamburg city cemeteries.
