Obituary - Richard Puterbaugh

Richard Russell Puterbaugh, 77, of 527 Broadway, died Monday (March 8, 2010) in Blessing Hospital.

He was born Dec. 5, 1932, in Kampsville, a son of Russell Puterbaugh and Lora Weir Put-erbaugh. On Feb. 6, 1954, he married Connie Louise John¬son in Louisiana, Mo. She died on Dec. 1, 2000.

He graduated from Pleasant Hill High School and later graduated from diesel mechanic school in St. Louis. He had many occupations including farming, gas station owner/operator, construction worker and equipment operator.

He was baptized in the RLDS church.

In his spare time, he enjoyed shooting pool and watching football and basket¬ball, especially the Pleasant Hill Wolves.

He will forever be remembered as the man who shot a cannon, every time the Wolves scored a touchdown. Survivors include three sons, Gary Puterbaugh of Springfield, Lewis Puterbaugh and his partner, Janet, of Longmont, Colo., and Edwin Puterbaugh of Longmont; a brother, Lynold Puterbaugh of Pleasant Hill; and a niece and nephew. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; and a nephew.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Saturday in Methodist Church in Pleasant Hill. Arrangements: Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Quincy
