Mary E. Roth, 85, of Jerseyville died September 19 at Greenwood Manor.
She was born April 1, 1900, in Calhoun County to Joseph & Elizabeth (Herzog) Koenig.
She married Noah M. Roth of October 30, 1935, in Springfield. He died in March 1951.
She then moved to Jerseyville and worked as a retail sales clerk from 1952 until she retired in 1972.
She was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic church in Jerseyville.
Survivors include daughter, Threse (Loellke) Snider of Jerseyville and Audrey Zinsser of St. Louis; brother, Charles Koenig of Dow and George Kornig of Jerseyville; Sisters Clara Kelly, Elizabeth Hughes and Mildred Hughes all of Jerseyville; 5 grandchildren; and 2 g-grandchildren.
Visitation and the rosary were September 20 at Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville. The funeral mass was September 21 at Holy Ghost church with the Rev. William Hembrow as celebrant. Burial was in St. Norbert cemetery at Hardin. Memorials may be given to Holy Ghost church and the American Cancer Society.
