Olin J. "Pappy" Vetter, 72, of Alton, died at 1:20 Thursday, October 9, 1986, at his residence, after a short illness.
He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late John and Rose (Curtiss) Vetter.
He was an operator in the brass mill at Olin Corp. for 34 years, retiring in 1973.
Surviving, are his wife, the former Louise Krueger; 4 Daughters, Joann Cole and Dixie Hammock, both of Alton, Olinda Frieman of Meadowbrook and Rollynda Freeman of Zeigler, Illinois; 8 grandchildren; 10 g-grandchildren; 2 Sisters Ruby Kremer of Milton and June Squier of Carthage; and 4 Brothers, Seibert Vetter of East Alton, Audrey and Floyd Vetter, both of Carrollton, and Tunney Vetter of Pleasant Hill.
Visitation will be from 5-9 pm Monday at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River, where services will be held at 11 am Tuesday with Rev. Wayne R. Vinson officiating. Burial will be at Summit Grove cemetery in Kampsville.
