Ernest Weiner, 86, who had been in ill health for some time, died September 4 at Waters Nursing Home, Jerseyville. Funeral rites were held at Hanks Funeral Home, Hardin on September 7. Burial was in Hardin Cemetery.
He was a son of the late Henry & Elizabeth Weiner and was born in Germany, December 13, 1867. He came to the US at the age of 14 and settled in Calhoun County where he had spent most of his life. For the past 12 years he had been a resident of Jerseyville.
Surviving are 6 daughters, Mrs Anna Foiles, Jerseyville, Mrs Elizabeth Slinker and Mrs Mae Klinefelter of Marshalltown, IA, Mrs Ella Lynch, Beaman, IA, Mrs Ethel Smith, Meredosia, and Mrs Dorothy Vetter, Brighton; 3 sons, William and Paul Weiner, Jerseyville and Ernest Weiner Jr, Brighton; and 1 sister, Mrs Barbara Brodbeck, 92 year old resident of Batchtown.
His wife died 6 years ago.
